We don’t believe in waiting for your Articles Programme to be over before trusting you to drive our business. Our CA trainees have often found themselves at the forefront of new business initiatives, getting hands-on experience in building new businesses from the ground up alongside (not underneath) our business leaders.

Here’s the process.

1. Apply online.

If you meet the requirements, take five minutes to fill out our application form.

2. Find out if we’re a match.

Candidates who are successful in the initial screening process are taken through a series of online and face-to-face interviews. If you are successful in these interviews, you are invited to our TOPP IT internship.

The internship is a crucial part of our recruitment selection process. It consists of business simulations, presentations, interviews, networking opportunities and social events. It is an opportunity for us to get to know you in a practical work environment, and for you to get to know us.

3. Shape your career through your articles experience.

During your 3-year training programme at VAT IT, we aim to provide you with a solid foundation for building a successful career. We give you practical work experience and on-the-job training in various rotations, as well as additional upskilling training and mentorship.

Every trainee’s path within the articles programme is different. It is a flexible programme and although there are some core rotations, there is room for forging your own path within the organization.

The intention is for you to discover what you are good at, what you enjoy and what your future holds, having spent time in various teams and roles.

4. Stay with us.

By the end of your articles journey, we hope that you will have found a permanent place within the organization, as many of our alumni have done. You will be starting your CA career on the front-foot, as you will already have made a name for yourself within the business and identified your strengths and passions. You may even have already established yourself within a leadership position.

Practical experience

Board Exam support

At this point on your path to becoming a CA, you have proven your superb academic capabilities. We now want to take your hand for the next three years and ensure that your practical performance, people skills, management capabilities, process building, and decision-making abilities are advanced to match your academic capacity.

During your three years, you will rotate across our departments and businesses to get exposure to a range of skills and find your passion.

VAT IT provides trainees with access to accredited board courses in preparation for the APC exam. Our trainees also have access to a range of registered CA(SA)’s in the business for mentorship, guidance, and support. We’re proud to say that over the past two years we have had a 100% APC and ITC pass rate, as well as a Top 10 ITC candidate in our TOPP Programme.
